Permissions
App permissions
What each phone permission enables, and what turning it off changes.

Driving apps commonly request location, motion and fitness, and permission to run in the background.
Location supplies route and speed. Motion sensors help separate driving from walking or riding. Background activity is what lets a trip record without you opening the app.
Turning a permission off usually does not remove you from the program. It changes what the program can see, and missing trips are often treated as unknowns.
Terms
- Always-on location
- Location access that continues while the app is closed.
- Motion and fitness
